I know I am always looking and coming up short in my Kitchen when I need a platter. This is 13 inches in diameter and features the unique, one of a kind, Petoskey Stone Pattern. If you are not from Michigan then you may not be familiar with this popular beach stone. It is a stone found in the upper lower peninsula of Michigan on the beaches and has a very distinctive pattern. It is a coveted souvenir that I grew up hunting for.
This piece is great as a gift or to add to your collection of serving dishes, and is sure to be a conversation starter.
This piece is made of stoneware, then dipped in a white slip, drawn on and set out to dry. Once it is dry it is put in the kiln and fired to about 1900 degrees. Then it gets glazed and heads back into the kiln to about 2200 degrees.
